Brody Forbes Partnership - Consulting Engineers

Brody Forbes Partnership is an independent Civil, Structural and Geotechnical Engineering Consultancy, established in 1978 and based in West Dorset. We provide an extensive range of expertise and experience for a wide range of Clients. To date we have been instructed on more than 5,000 Projects.

Ground investigation is designed, supervised and reported upon “in house” by our own Geotechnical Specialist, ensuring that the design team receive appropriate, accurate and relevant information at the earliest possible stage. Geotechnical works have included small scale ground stabilisation for flats, at a project cost of £25,000, up to large scale cliff stabilisation, at a cost of £600,000.

Civil and structural design has been carried out for a large number of commercial, private, charitable, developer, education sector and Local Authority clients. Projects have typically included public swimming pools, £1.9M, school accommodation blocks up to £2M and multi-million pound commercial developments for private developers. We have acted as lead consultants on a number of medium scale harbour works and reconstruction of fire damaged buildings, totalling to date some £1M. A Lottery funded 5,500 sq.m., 39 metre span Preservation Store has recently been completed in Somerset with a project value of £3.5M. This brief was extended to include restructuring of an adjacent museum for an additional £600,000.

As a Practice we have taken a keen interest in sustainable development involving preliminary design schemes for cycleways, a full scale feasibility study for an eco village in Sturminster Newton, the Dorset Agenda 21 Forum and have obtained Planning Permission for a narrow gauge railway in Bridport.
