Experienced Structural Engineer

We are currently hiring Experienced Structural Engineers.  The role  will entail working on an interesting portfolio of projects, within the Commercial, Industrial, Residential and Defence sectors. 

This is a permanent opportunity for an ambitious professional who combines strong technical expertise with confident leadership, commercial awareness and a passion for delivering outstanding engineering solutions.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead structural and civil engineering projects from concept through to completion
  • Provide technical guidance, design oversight and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Work closely with clients, architects, contractors and other key stakeholders
  • Manage project programmes, budgets, risks and quality standards
  • Help shape innovative, practical and sustainable engineering solutions
  • Support the continued growth and development of the business
  • Be involved in a variety of small to medium-sized design projects & structural inspections.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Self-motivated, Incorporated or Chartered with ICE or IStructE, or actively working towards
  • Experienced in leading multidisciplinary structural and civil engineering projects
  • Confident in client-facing, technical and commercial environments
  • Skilled in design, analysis, project delivery and team leadership

Salary

The salary range for this position is £45,000 to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The annual holiday allowance is 25 days plus Bank Holidays.

Responsibilities and Duties

Fabrication and welding of steel structures;

Site installation of steel structures;

Successful candidates will ideally be:

  • Coded to ISO9606
  • Hold IPAF qualifications
  • Be competent and experienced in erecting steelwork on site
  • Hold CSCS Card relevant to their role

The ideal candidate must be willing to work away and hold the following qualifications:

  • City & Guilds Inspection, Testing & Certification Of Electrical Installations
  • City & Guilds 18th Edition (required)

Ideally the candidate will have a minimum of five years’ supervisory experience in the electrical industry and be able to demonstrate their knowledge and expertise in the field.

Responsibilities and Duties include:

  • Ensuring all work is carried out to the relevant standards and are compliant with all the relevant statutory requirements
  • Designing, implementing, maintaining and improving electrical products and systems
  • Generating electrical design drawings
  • Performing feasibility studies for industrial, domestic and commercial technical developments
  • Overseeing all electrical installation, maintenance and inspection work
  • Calculating project costs and delivery timelines
  • Assisting the Project Management Team with collating documentation and information for the O&M documentation
  • Collaborating with clients and other stakeholders

  • Estimating
  • Surveying
  • Producing Electrical Designs and Calculations
  • Supervising turnkey installations
  • Testing and Inspection of electrical installations.
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings correctly
